Angela Bates

 

Before moving to private practice Angela enjoyed over 10 years working in a
range of public health services including specialist mental health, sexual assault,
and community health.

 

Her primary interests are working with people experiencing major mental health
disorders such as depression, anxiety, social anxiety, phobias, bipolar disorder,
PTSD, grief and loss, stress, and adjustment issues. A particular area of interest
for Angela is the treatment of trauma, including sexual assault, and vicarious
trauma and burnout in first responders.

 

Supervision is another area of interest, and Angela provides supervision to both intern and registered psychologists/clinical psychologists, and registrar clinical psychologists. She also enjoys the variety of working with children, teenagers and adults across the lifespan, and draws upon a number of therapies including; Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Solution Focused & Narrative Therapies  and Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing. She is a member of the EMDR Association of Australia.
